Roaches
There are many different thousands of species but only four are usually common to the United States, and especially the southern states, including Texas.
The German Cockroach (on right below on moble) is the most common of the household roaches. It is about .59” in length.

They reproduce nymphs and carry them in an egg sack that the female often carries.
American Roaches (on right below on mobile) are a much larger version of the German Roach. They leave feces that are sometimes mistaken for mice droppings
There are also Oriental Cockroaches. Oriental roaches can often be found around decaying organic matter, and in sewers, drains, damp basements, porches, and other damp locations. They can be found outside in bushes, under ground cover, under mulch, and around other damp places outdoors. It is a major household pest in parts of the northwest, mid-west, and southern United States.
Wood roaches, seen below, require the consistently moist environment of their natural habitats such as under woodpiles or loose bark and in decaying logs.
